Some of the most powerful moments in aging don’t happen in a doctor’s office — they happen with a paintbrush in hand, or fingers pressed into soft soil. Brushes & Blooms is Mosaic’s signature program bringing art and horticultural therapy directly to older adults and caregivers across South Jersey.
Through guided creative sessions and therapeutic gardening, Brushes & Blooms helps participants reconnect — with themselves, with each other, and with the joy that’s always been there.
Golden Sunflowers — Horticultural Therapy
Hands in the soil, therapy in bloom. Our Golden Sunflowers horticultural therapy sessions are led by a licensed horticultural therapist and bring the restorative power of gardening directly into your community.
Each 60-minute session includes:
- Guided gardening activities using adaptive tools and materials
- All plants, soil, and supplies provided
- A documented wellness evaluation following each visit
- Curriculum adaptable for memory care, assisted living, and rehabilitation settings

Art Sessions — Creative Expression for Aging Adults
Brush in hand, heart on canvas. Our guided art sessions offer older adults and caregivers a space to express, create, and connect through themed projects led by an experienced facilitator.
Each session includes:

- A welcoming, low-pressure environment designed for older adults

Two Programs. One Purpose.
Who We Serve
Brushes & Blooms is designed for older adults, individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, and their caregivers throughout Atlantic County, Cape May County, and surrounding South Jersey communities. Sessions are offered at low or no cost to participants — because financial barriers should never stand between someone and the support they need.
Sessions are mobile and come to you — meeting seniors and caregivers where they are, at senior centers, assisted living communities, rehabilitation settings, and community locations.
Sessions are limited to approximately 15 participants to ensure a meaningful, personal experience.
